We have decided to read the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Marie Ann Shaffer and Annie Burrows at the next Book club meeting.
The story begins in January 1946, a writer Juliet Ashton receives a letter from a stranger, a founding member of the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. And so begins a remarkable tale of the island of Guernsey during the German occupation, and of a society as extraordinary as its name. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a wonderful story about love, war and the support that can be found in good books and with good friends.
