Poetry Month

So I hope Poetry month was a  revelation for everyone, it is so fun to hear what other things people like to read. As I missed the meeting (due to a splendid family trip) I thought I would post my favorite poem.

Its by Humberto Ak'ab'al
translated from Spanish by Ilan Stavans

Your Laughter

My ears collapse
through the ravines
pursuing the echo of your laughter.
It leaves behind its breath of geraniums,
scattered in the mist
at the side of the mountain well.
How the peach flower distills its fragrance,
how sweet is the song of the ravine-ward!
And your laughter spilling out of your mouth
like the water of your vessel.
